Chordoma Immunology and Immunotherapy

Chordoma is a rare and deadly sarcoma that occurs in the skull base and along the spinal column of patients. The standard of care for chordoma is surgery and irradiation as standard chemotherapy is entirely ineffective, and there are no other FDA approved drugs for its treatment. Thus, there remains an unmet need to understand and effectively target this rare disease.

Immunotherapy is an attractive therapeutic approach for the treatment of many tumors, but a deeper understanding of chordoma immunity is required. We seek to apply our cancer immunology expertise into this rare disease, and the results of this study will be the first comprehensive analysis of immune composition and rational development of immunotherapy for chordomas.
